about

On tour with oRSo in 01999, we carried a DAT walkman and tried to record new sounds each day/night to be incorporated into the next night's set.

This particular recording became a fixture of The MVM recording process after that tour, appearing in pieces on many releases as we sampled the life out of it.

Memory is that this was an unedited recording from a walk taken starting at Gas Works Park wending down along the waterfront to the piers. Memory said it was a few hours of walking.

Memory is clearly inaccurate. It is possible that this is the snippets of that walk as they were recorded, the highlights I decided to record, unedited, as back then recording for several hours used more tape than we could afford in a single day. To give memory some credit.

It seems more likely this was edited down to create a simulated highlight reel from that walk around the Puget Sound. And memory be damned!

Regardless, we love you, Seattle! You were our first ever home! You can hear why!
